Re: Is limp/calling with AA a reasonable approach?
I never ever slowplay aces. And checking behind .. someone likes to leave alot of money at the table.

Re: Is limp/calling with AA a reasonable approach?
I dont like open limping anything, but I will limp behind with AA if the table conditions are right. Meaning that there needs to be an aggro player behind that will raise up the limpers a high % of the time. This situation rarely presents itself.

Re: Is limp/calling with AA a reasonable approach?
Kinda hard to rep AJ with PF action no? I would have repped something on that flop if anything (or i guess just simply continuation bet to better rep something on the turn were i to do this), and as played fold river

Re: Is limp/calling with AA a reasonable approach?
To answer the question, I could see limp/calling with aces if you think you'll end up HU. In this spot, though, I hate it because you could end up in a 3 way pot in horrible position.
Course, I still play at a level where limping AA is completely unnecessary. |

Re: Is limp/calling with AA a reasonable approach?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If you're going to limp-call other stuff, I guess mixing in AA occasionally makes sense, but I'm with nath that I don't seen a lot of value to including the UTG limp-call in the set of moves you want to be able to make with some regularity. Believe it or not, there is no rule in poker that says you have to doing something super-tricky just because you have the best possible starting hand. Also your river call looks pretty bad. Shaun's turn raise suggestion is interesting. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I might limp/call a pp early on. With the money this shallow, I can't see limp/calling much of anything. I might limp a small pp or something, but I would probably fold or limpreraise rather than limp/call. I thought about raising the turn with presumably 10 outs if behind, but I figured I might be ahead and if not I was given a good price to draw. [/ QUOTE ] How do you "presumably" have 10 outs? I know what outs you're referring to, but I think it's kind of hard to say none of those are taken, and if any of the Aces as outs are taken there goes your 2 Js as well. Anyway, I don't like you played this and I certainly don't think I'd call the river here. |
