Default new video card installed but not working...help please

new video card - Radeon 9600pro AGP8x 256mb DDR
on Asus p4p800-vm motherboard (bout 3/4 yrs old)
computer is P4 3gig 512 ram

have been running intergrated video card - intel extreme graphics 2 or something like that and it uses the: intel 82865G graphics controller driver.

so ive disabled the integrated driver, turned off the computer, installed the new video in the AGP slot, turned it back on and it gives no picture on the monitor. Ive tried and retried this a number of times with no success. The LED light just blinks??

when i turn it off and take out the new card works fine as has done for yrs. Why wont it take the new card

not sure what to do

in BIOS the adaptor pritority is set (AGP / Int VGA), should this be (AGP / PCI)

should i change anything else in the BIOS?

do i need to connect something to the AGP slot or new card inside the box?

is it just that this card is not compatible to my computer as im starting to think this si the problem even though it does appear to suit

would really appreciate some help thanx

is it possible that there is an extra power wire that hasn't been plugged in right?

i dont think so...i put the card in and turn the computer on and it wont even boot up, BIOS or anything. then i take the new card out and turn it back on and it boots up as before.

like i said it might be possible that there is a wire that i need to connect to the AGP slot or to the new card from the motherboard but its definitely not obvious or been pointed out by the motherboard manual

seriously putting me on tilt

oh, i thought the pc was booting up and the graphics card just wasn't working.

what you describe sounds to me like too small a power supply for all the load on it.

you need to upgrade your power supply.. its the box in your pc that the electricity wire plugs into.. go to newegg and order one thats at least 350watts.. shoulnd't cost more than 30 bucks
