Default 100NL 6m QQ preflop in the SB against a minraise and an actual one

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) converter

MP ($118.35)
CO ($9.45)
Button ($82.45)
Hero ($97.50)
BB ($46.35)
UTG ($57.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $5</font>, Hero ???

This is my second orbit at the table, and I don't recall what I felt about the players at the time. What sorts of hands do you expect to see from button? My gut told me TT+,AQs+, which I think means I have to play this for set value here. Well, I think it means I have to call and find out where I am on the flop, anyway. But that seems very wrong to me.

That's without really considering UTG, who has excellent position on the flop. I have no idea how UTG factors into the equation, honestly. He still has yet to act preflop and he's going to get great odds and great position if I just call. Yuck. I don't like this situation :/

Really hard to give any meaningful analysis without stats/reads.

Given that, a call is right here. Re-raising here only gets action from AK and AA/KK. You might get shorty UTG to push with something else, but this depends on how bad he is.

This is a good thing - increases implied odds for your set. See the flop. A lot of the time it will come with a A/K and you can just c/f. Sometimes you will spike your set and crack overpairs. It's only hard when it comes ragged.

I think I'd call and then lead a ragged flop. Reraising is bad from SB IMO, as you'll play a bloated pot out of position if called and you don't really want to see 5-bet.

I just call here and then c/c the flop and lead turn to a rag board. I find this line loses the least money with no reads.

I think your range for button is way too tight. I see a lot of people who will make these smaller reraises over minraisers with pretty much their standard opening requirments for the button with a limper. I think a good range there is probably 88+, AJ+, and probably a few other hands like KQs or 89s. I don't see minraises given much respect in 6max games.

IMO, a call is by far the best option here, and I agree with your range (although I know I've had this arguement b4 with some on the well respected posters on this baord).

You can then either lead a raggidy flop or c/c one and lead the turn
