What you do at the tables drags down both.

that's my point, it doesn't drag down pros. other 6+ tablers probably won't notice, or notice much. but the fish will get frustrated and not open up another table.

Actually, it's just different aspects of the same thing. Bad players lose money to us in the long run. Think of them as your paying customers and try to make the environment as pleasant for them as possible (or at least try not to make it unpleasant).

You won't find a casino dealer berating a customer for making a bad play in a pit game.

Except blackjack when the third baseman busts when the dealer is showing a 6 and it ends up being the dealer bust card and there are a few tips on the table...

Luis,
Just because he is playing within the rules doesn't mean it isn't really [censored] annoying. That is why most people are complaining.

Suzzer,
Stuff like timing out and berating the fish have such a negligible impact on the profitably of games.
[ QUOTE ]
People like you are 10 times worse for online poker than Frist.

[/ QUOTE ]
That is just retarded. Logically think about how fish Frist blocked out of the pool, compared to how many people leave because of people berating the fish.

Christ, the casinos tell millions of people that they're never going to win on slot machines or table games yet vegas brings in almost $10 billion a year. They could put signs on every slot machine that says "LOL YOU -EV LOSER" and people would still play them. However they don't do that because they would lose some customers and we shouldn't berate the fish because we lose some customers. But comparing that to frist is moronic.

It was a blow, but a lot of people have trickled back. I've played the 60s on PS for a year and a half and I think right now is as juicy as ever. Remember they were NEVER easy like party, and by all accounts party was becoming less of a gold mine before frist (for everyone except bigjoe anyway).

I've never felt online poker was not going to die because of Frist and people like him. IMO it's going to die, or more accurately - contract severely, because casual players get bored and move on to something else. The least we can do is prolong this by being nice to them and trying to keep the games fun for them.

I didn't say Luis Gallo had *more* impact than Frist (duh). My point is if all the regulars acted like Luis Gallo, all but the sick gamblers would be gone real soon. Even Frist couldn't have that big of an impact.

lol @ the slot machine signs, i cant understand how people play the regular games where the only edge is had by the casino. i like todd brunson quote in supersystem about why berating bad players makes no sense: ""Let's say you went to a pet store and saw a dog you fell in love with because of its bark. Would you then take the dog home and yell at it and tell it that it was stupid for barking? You would probably say a person who did this was irrational or even crazy. However, if you look for games with bad players, then get in the game and yell at them and tell them that they're stupid when they play badly and beat you, isn't that the same thing? Isn't that crazy? Dogs bark. That's what they do."

also the sharkscope thing ive been guilty of before, i never knew that site existed and it was so satisfying when some loudmouth is calling you out to just cut and paste their -$4000 results into the chatbox. then i realized 1) im telling them there is a website where you can look up results, 2) im implying i am a winning player when i might be better off by having people think i'm bad and 3) im encouraging them to get better none of it makes sense so now i just say ty nh gg.

He clearly stated arguments to defend his postion therefore he was just asking how possibly PS could write such a letter where he is within the rules.

[/ QUOTE ]
There is a little disclaimer box that’s about 3x4 inches on your screen filled with text that could overflow an encyclopedia. When you click on it and download the software you’ve signed off that it’s their party. You are a house guest who can be asked to leave at any time for any reason, they don’t like your jokes, a snobbish bore, and no cause required hit the pike.
Does that cover how they could write it?

For the content and concept I give PS high marks for being proactive and addressing an issue straight on that is annoying to most but still within the rules. Good for them!
