Default NL25: KK - Good preflop fold? Just kidding What is the river decision?

Reads:
Villain is CO and totally unknown this point.

River: ($23.20) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
CO checks, Hero ?

Sorry, this is maybe so standard but I ask anyway. I don't know which one is better, sometimes I lost too big bots by betting this river or lost value by checking. What is standard line here? I assume check? I put villain on flush draw or weak queen.

Tricky without reads but I check behind here.
Very difficult to put him on a hand given his line but here goes..

Hands you beat:
AQ, KQ - May call
AT, KT - Some callstations do make these calls but I wouldnt be too hopefull of seeing this
Busted Flush - Wont call

Hands that beat you:
QQ,22,TT - Should have raised somewhere but may have been letting you do the betting for them. Will almost certainly call despite the scary board
QT - Very possible and will probably call.
Any J - Is CR you all in, strange to check the river when they hit but you have bet 3-streets so they may thing CR is the best way to extract.

So I check behind.
Better hands are not folding, few worse hands call.
Any J -

I agree w/ pot control on these big pairs on coordinated boards like this. Good analysis SS.

i agree with sounded simple, there aren't many worse hands that call.

i definitely would not do this, it looks weak and a busted draw maybe decide this pot can be taken down if he raises AI. this bet makes u vulnerable to a bluff u cannot call

I'd check behind too but not for this reason. If Hero did bet 1/3 pot the Villain could only raise for $7 more so he's not getting bluffed off.

it is the hero who bets 1/3 pot tho, not villain. still tho, i see your point, villain doesnt have enough to make hero fold to CRAI

Yeah just a typo I corrected. I like seeing hands like these as I believe one of my main weaknesses is not making enough river value bets. Here though, I think the check is the play.

P.S. Ranka...move up. You've done all you need to do at NL25.

[/ QUOTE ]I played with him quite a bit the past two days at the $50 so I'm sure it'll be for good soon.

I'm with everybody else about the hand. So many two pair combos and so many ways he can have a straight. Only way he can call is if he has KQ or AQ and didn't raise them preflop.
