Default How do I break bad eating habits?

Hey guys,

How do I break bad eating habits due to some unforunate cicumstances I lived with my mother during my adolescent years where I have developed bad eating habits, sometimes I gorge on stupid [censored] sometimes I skip meals. Is there any tips you guys can share on sticking to meal plans and are there any meal plans/planners you can recomend?

Thanks,

I think you should start a food log (www.fitday.com) so you can see how many calories your getting. Can't really reccommend a meal plan without knowing what your goals are. As for the gorging on stupid stuff, try to slowly work it out of your diet with healthier food choices. A little bit of "stupid [censored]" won't be that detrimental to you anyways.

Forget your BMI, it's a horrible measurment. Here is a link to some diet outlines that may help you.

Food/exercise log and willpower. A reason to get in shape always helps - joining a team sport, for example.

Make sure you always have tempting but healthy food options to hand. If you feel the need to gorge then grab some fruit and start there. Then try to be focused on doing something else by the time you are done eating it.

also when you go to grab some food out of the fridge or pantry, just take out a serving without taking out the entire container. (i.e. take out a handful of chips rather than taking out the whole bag)

Try looking at successful transformation pictures (ie, fat ppl turned skinny). It can be really motivating to see someone with a body like yours become ripped in a period of 4-6 months.

Berardi’s First Law:

If a food is in your possession or located in your residence, you will eventually eat it.

Corollary to Berardi’s First Law:

If you wish to be healthy and lean, you must remove all foods not conducive to those goals from said residence and replace them with a variety of better, healthier choices.
