I'm glad I'm poor. I'll never have to go through so much yellow tape.

wow, just wow....

i live an hour away from Fallsview, the canadian border is probably the easiest way to get out the United States....and you people have this many problems?

Say you are going to the casino....they dont care...seriously half the traffic they get daily is going to the casino.

DECLARE YOUR [censored] MONEY! I picked up my friend in Buffalo for the WPT Niagara Event, we crossed the border, they asked what he had, he said 18k, we pulled over, filled out a [censored] form and were on our way.

The easiest way to make the border think you arent a criminal is to stop ACTING LIKE A [censored] CRIMINAL. YOU ARE CARRYING LEGITIMATE MONEY, JESUS [censored] CHRIST ACT LIKE IT

Triumph, great story, glad it all worked out. I will, however, never forgive you for the time you called my like 200 dollar bet on the river with A-high and won like an 800 dollar pot :-(.

[/ QUOTE ]

That is a top 5 all time favorite hand for me. Not only did I call - I SNAP called. INSTA. And then you posted it on BBV before I could.

i get fcked up the ass any time i try to come back into the us @ niagara, regardless of what i declare, how much $$, etc etc, the us customs there are worse for some reason than any other customs spot in the states for some reason

[/ QUOTE ]

They may be esp. bad in Niagara, but they're all trained to spot nervous, quaking 'smuggling terrorists' who can't even talk clearly when leaned into...the same quivering ones who set off alarm bells in banks when trying to deposit weird overseas checks.
I hope your 'poker tells' aren't as bad as your 'border tells'...

ADDITION: I'd forgotten this while I wrote the post:

Officer Flea is in the middle of interrogating me, and there are several other officers in the room. One comes rushing in with my cell phone in his hand and says,

"So you said everyone you know is coming from the US or Canada, right?" He has a glittering smile on his face - almost ear to ear. This officer looks like Jamie Gold and Ted Forrest's lovechild, only more.. officious.

"That's right." I concurred.

"So who do you know in Trinidad and Tobago?" He asked with his smug, I-got-ya smile.

I think I remember all of the officers starting to murmur.

"Trinidad and?" My mind reeled. I didn't know anyone there. I didn't know anyone in Trinidad, Tobago, the Netherlands Antilles, or Turks and Caicos, it must be...

"Oh, I know what that is! Look, the phone I got, it's pretty new and the number had been assigned before, and I keep getting all of these crazy calls from Unknown or Restricted. I even have one of them saved on my voicemail. They're asking for Dave Mig... something, I don't even know who that is."

Officer Flea's expression was unchanged. "So why would you save that?"

"Because.. I thought it was funny, it was so strange, I didn't know..."

It turns out they tried to call my voicemail about 5 times, failing to figure out how to do it - there were actually two messages, one from a bank that demanded Dave Migliore contact them IMMEDIATELY - and another that went something like, "Mig! This is Rambo... I haven't talked to you for a while. I miss you man, I worry about you. I'm in Japan, that's 13 hours ahead. Give me a call, man."

Finally one night while 6 tabling, I get a Restricted Call (they would always come in Restricted or Unknown) - it's this man who sounds very drunk or otherwise [censored] up asking for Dave. I try to calmly explain that Dave no longer owns this phone. He says, "Dave" and goes on in a very thick Carribean accent about some nonsense. I finally begin raising my voice - "Dave's not here. You can call this phone a million [censored] times and Dave will never be here. I don't know what happened to Dave. Stop calling this number - you will never reach him."

He calls back. "Dave". I try to explain the same concept to him - neglecting to mention that his or his stupid friend's phone call almost got me sent to prison. Finally he gives up. I still occasionally get calls for Dave, and it's been 6 months since I got the phone.
