WTF? We don't even like the middle easterners (from former southern USSR republics) that are IN Russia, what the hell makes you think we'd ally with a buncha people we went to war with 20 years ago, realizing that we'd effectively be against the US in that war? The middle east is valuable to the US because of oil. Russia has a ton of oil, and while we might go and build some nuclear power plants and ruffle some feathers for economic reasons, I just can't imagine a scenario where we'd go and ally ourselves with Iran if they decided to declare war on the US.

I think the theory that WW3 would start because of Israel getting attacked by like Syria or Iran and the US jumping in to retaliate/defend and basically becoming today's Iraq situation on a much larger scale has so far been the most likely in the thread.

There are always these guys who just come out and say "man Russia would actually DESTROY the United States...you guys just don't know". Same goes when discussing China.

Here's how it would go down you noobs: The Russians (allied with Iraq, Cuba, and Libya) would launch a surprise attack on America, namely utilizing long distance specialized missile ships, and bomb-dropping zeppelins. If we give up these areas to USA, they are going to have control over the oil not Iranians. Who would we rather see?

If USA gets caspian reserves, they not only control the oil, they directly impact both Chinese economy and European market. Do you see the implications?

You guys are forgetting the power The Kremlin gives Russia - the ability to hurry military production faster and produce spies.

The obvious first step to this war scenario would be that Russia sends spies into our interior to sabotage our key military resources (oil, aluminum, iron, copper) which would hamper our ability to rebuild our forces and throw our economy into shambles.

While we struggle to maintain our cash flow, Russia forms a war chest by selling older technology to less advanced countries, using the money to rush production of key military units like modern armor, artillery, and stealth bombers.

Once they've taken a major US coastal city they can airlift military in and avoid dealing with our Navy at all. At that point, neighboring countries will see how weak we are and opportunistically invade our border cities.

Tough to break through the Psychic Corps' defenses. But their Gatling cannons aren't very effective anti-aircraft weapons. Air-strikes in San Francisco (Alcatraz Island), Egypt, and the main base in Antarctica will be more than enough to destroy Yuri and his army.
