Did you mean to say "overbet look bad"? It does not seem like a good place at all to be overbet shoving.

Would it ever be a bad play if you know your good at that point and expect a call from an opponent?

Actually it was kind of funny when over the previous 100 hands at this table I was showing 18/12/1.8...

I can't imagine how you could still be ahead after that river. I don't like the flop shove at all, though.

Well the money went in when I was ahead. he hit one of his 9 outs. He was holding KhQh...

Is it ever a better idea to build pot a little more and push on turn when you know villian is on MidPP or draw to discourage call?

I never thought it would be.

Say I were to reraise blind opening bet. Let's say to $15. If villian is on draw like I suspected he being the type of player he is, calls.

Now with a ~$45 pot he is getting better odds on the call on the turn then if I were to push from the flop...

Thoughts?

I thought these spots didn't exist anymore. The thing is, when you overbet shove you allow your opponent to play perfectly against you. Whether or not they do is another question, but I expect that they would much more often than not.

I thought these spots didn't exist anymore. What ya mean CDL?

Thx for the comments though. I rarely make this play. I ended up with the action I wanted, but not the result.

Anytime you can get someone in as a litle worse then a 2:1 UD can't be all bad.

i think the flop shove is ok, if you put villian on an over pair which he very well could have.

By shoving you gave him an easy shot to get away from his flush draw cheap. Instead, he made a terrible call. If you had JJ-88, then he made a good call. If you make it more like $20 on the flop, then shove a non-heart turn, you give him a chance to make a two mistakes, and he's going to make those mistakes more often. Let's not discount the possibility that SB or BTN has a 7, either, although with the texture of the board, I'm not sure you can get away from Kings here. Maybe if BTN calls a raise then SB shoves.
