As a pretty devout Christian myself, I have to say I strongly disapprove of praying at the table. Poker is a game where you're competing with others for money. Praying to win is basically asking God to make the others lose money - a little weird, imo

exactly. as though God would even care if a few dollars
were won or lost in a game of poker.

also - weird is football players praying on the sidelines
for the success / failure of a game winning / losing field goal
attempt.

in this case, of course, theologians concur that God uses
a very straightforward calculation of righteous acts minus
sins ( weighted, of course, for things like sincerity and
sacrifice ) of the praying players and then ( to keep things
absolutely fair ) divides by the number of players praying.

The most righteous team wins.
