Re: This is what I do to wack MC\'s.
it works for me bc i raise that flop with ace high and/or a 7 as a semibluff (or worse pair but its not really in my range)

Re: This is what I do to wack MC\'s.
This is awful, IMO. Flop CR is alright, but once he calls, I'm usually done. The Ace is a good card, but a check-raise is bad. If he bets it, he's usually not folding to the CRAI and he'll usually check behind and snap you off on the river. I'd just lead turn again if you're dead set on making him fold something. Just saw he's getting 3:1 as well.

Re: This is what I do to wack MC\'s.
Are you doing this because the ace fell? If so your hand is entirely unbelievable. You check raised the flop, ok, something I assume you don't do very often with A big or ace and a small pair. So the only hands that make sense are AA (which you probably never slowplay) and a set.
When you c/r the turn, you are representing a set, not the ace, and the thing about that is that everyone pays sets off. |

Re: This is what I do to wack MC\'s.
if an ace manages to get here, which it wont a lot, its gonna fold at least sometimes. dj likes his hand on the flop and loves it on the turn, so he must beat an ace

Re: This is what I do to wack MC\'s.
The problem with just calling from the BB with a mid to high pocket pair, specifically like nines or tens here, is that you have trouble playing against his range becuase you have NO idea where he's at. Per raise preflop and small turn bet and villian's preflop numbers there is no doubt he could have turned the nut straight, any two pair, have a slowplayed set, or a big overpair. I think to the double check raise he only folds <JJ. Also, I think he checks behind a lot of hands that he'd fold to a CR on the turn (i.e. I think he's checking like QQ behind a fair % of the time, and that is a target hand we want to fold). Given what I just said I'm uncomfortable doing this, and I'd much much rather do it with 34, or something like that.
