Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
Your hand has become a bluff catcher. I'm a calling station but I'm folding here. Its possible hes doing this with busted diamonds. But I don't think you can call here without a read. He could very well have something like X [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I would typically check this river to induce a bluff. |

Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
It looks like you are beat, but you are getting 56:160 ish to call, so need to win about 1 in 4 to break even.
The more i look at it, the more i find it hard to put him on a hand with an 8 in it that hasn't raised the flop or turn. This is an excellent river to bluff on as you have to lay down a lot of strong Aces here. I think i call, i may see J10 here but a lot of the two pair hands on the flop or turn probably raise you so hes either got nothing or an 8/J10. |

Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
do most people feel check/calling river is a better line than bet/folding?

Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
i think you gotta call because of odds and a good river to bluff on JT would be one of the hands that would have this same line i guess

do most people feel check/calling river is a better line than bet/folding? [/ QUOTE ] no, and i probably wouldn't fold anyways. unless villain is a good player, he could be overvaluing a bunch of hands...AK/AQ, etc. this is 3-handed. you're going to have increased variance, but you have a really strong hand here. maybe he even thinks you're chopping with him or something stupid. |

Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
i am still having trouble with this hand:
1) this is not three handed, this is 9 handed, i do not why the converter did this. 2) the reason i bet instead of checked is because i wanted value from AK/AJ. i did not think past that much at the time. i feel like in Ace high flops that villain has an ace far more than he has a draw. 3) his all in troubles me. i really do not see a semi-decent player pushing with AK here. that and a busted draw is really all we beat because i doubt anyone would push AJ. also, with the likely possibility of Xd 8d, is this really a call? |

Re: 100: 2pair faces river push
I bet a bit more on the river, the half pot bet looks quite weak. Villan isnt limping into you with AK, AQ.
