I don't consider him a rock star in the Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi way but if you walk around town with him for about a half hour he gets absolutely mobbed by random people. FWIW

I wouldn't use the term rock star, but he's bigtime famous and a very legit music celebrity. I would imagine that partying with him would be pretty much like partying with a rock star.
