What is the standard price difference for the room mate who gets the master bedroom if there are 4 people moving into a single family home?

[/ QUOTE ]

Pay by the square foot.

Why not just put your names in a hat?

You could even scope out things like parking, closet space, group chores/expenses.

Maybe pick out of a hat whoever gets picked gets the master bedroom but also has to take the trash out or something.

This is how we did it. Drew straws, reversed the order the next year, ie smallest got the biggest next year.

We all pay the same in my house. The kid that hooked us up with the house got the biggest room and the rest of us drew names out of a hat. I toured a house today were each room had a different price. I thought that was really weird but maybe I'm in the minority...

how about have a discussion between the people involved like mature adults?

presumably, the biggest bed room has value to people. most modern societies use money to express value. thus, presumably, you can come to agreement about how much that value is.

Bid for the rooms. Simple supply and demand problem that is totally fair, and no one can complain when all is said and done. Worked like a charm at my last place.

Our rent is $1500. Dude with the MBR has garage access too. He pays $600, me and my other roommate pay $450.
