Can I go to showdown?
I really don't go to showdown much so I'm looking for more spots, but I'm not so sure this is one of them.
5 handed, villain is TAG Hero has Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB UTG raises, SB calls, Hero calls Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] two checks, UTG bets, SB calls, Hero calls Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] two checks, UTG bets, SB folds, Hero ... |

Re: Can I go to showdown?
The flop call is fine since you have outs to improve. On the turn I would dump it. If you call the turn you are committing to showdown, and I think it's too loose, especially vs. this opponent.
If you wanted to play this aggressively, you could raise the flop and go from there, but that play has some spewitude. By calling the flop I think you are deciding that if the turn card doesn't improve your hand, it's time to let it go. |

Re: Can I go to showdown?
I dump this preflop. An UTG raise from a TAG has you dominated too often. That's precisley why this flop sucks for Hero. If you call down, you're hoping for him to have AJ, or a PP =<JJ (maybe include JTs). And I don't see him dependably betting any of those hands again on the turn except maybe JJ.
Edit: Typo. Also, the way you played it, flop call good, fold turn. |
