APPT Korea whos going?

APPT Manilla was a pretty solid event but Manilla is a dirty ass and dangerous city so it wasn't really fun.

Korea APPT is happening 28th of this month and it's going to be a blast. Seoul is a sickkkkkkkk city to party/drink in. Lots of baller [censored] will be happening. If you have questions about Korea or the event post them here.

I've thought about playing one of the qualifiers on 'Stars for this one...and then decided to lie down until the feeling went away....

I can't imagine why I would fly half way around the planet to play in an event where the total prize pool is likely to be around half a million bucks. I'm guessing there isn't a real, functioning 24/7 poker room there--fly in, more likely than not get eliminated out of the money, then fly home? Yecch.

I'll wait for the one in Sydney. That's at least a real poker room in a real casino, in a part of the world I've always wanted to visit.

Rek,

1) Are they spreading cashgames? How high?

2) Best way to get cheapest flight over there?

this sounds really tempting but such a long plane flight would drive me nuts, and additionally i dont think i could take the jet lag for a weeklong poker trip.

Easy

Fly to Hawaii for a minivacation for 3-4 days prior to your flight to Gimpo.

Rekrul has mentioned $10/$20 NL live games in his posts in the past (I think?), so whilst I have no idea what the casino will be spreading, I am sure there're cash games going in some of the underground clubs.

I should have made a meet and greet post for 2+2ers coming. A number of us AU players reside here now and showed a bunch of guys a great time, just ask Traheo [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

It is dirty and can be dangerous, but with the right local knowledge, Manila rocks.

Korea should be as good if not better, plenty of side action with games as big as 200/400 held regularly.

Regularly they only spread 5/5 and 5/10 as the poker room is new and only gets 2-3 tables at a time but for the event I'm sure they'll have atleast 10/20, if not higher.

Cheapest way to get a flight...I have no idea but Korean air business class owns that [censored] turns into a bed. Good flight attendants too.

Yeah you're right such is the same for anywhere you go I guess. Korea is the same way actually but its good even if you don't know [censored] and its great if you do.

Anyways, there has never been 200/400 spread in the korean casinos except a 200/400 limit game maybe twice a month?

I agree 2.5k buyin where they are going to get max 300 players is pretty lame. There is a poker room (albiet small). The only reason I could give people to come to this event is how awesome and fun of a city Seoul is.
