Default How To Proceed After Dealer Error

I was playing at the new Wheeling Island poker room when the dealer made a mistake that caused a lot of commotion. In a NL hold'em game, I bet a lot on the flop, folds to the button who announces allin. I'm about to call, but before I do I mention something about what hand I put him on. The dealer apparently didn't notice the all-in by the player (even though he verbally announced it and all the players seemed to notice it). Before I acted the dealer put the turn card out. How should the hand play out from here out?

i believe the standard operating procedure most places is:

turn card gets put back in the unused portion of the deck and it is shuffled; you can act - call, re-raise or fold. then the turn is dealt. then continue the hand.

I'd like to get some feedback before you guys know what happened, but I won't be able to check up on this thread for a while, so I'll post the result in white:
It happened kind of fast, so I might be slightly mistaken with the exact details, but the the dealer took the exposed turn card (3d) and put it in the bottom of the deck and gave me the chance to call or not. I called the allin, and then the dealer burned and dealt the card that would have been the river that he said now counted as the turn (inconsequential king). He then reshuffled the remaining deck (including the 3d that was accidentally exposed), and from that he dealt the river card. The river card was a 7 that gave the pot to a heavy underdog when the money went in, and the losing player called for the floor. Floor said it was correct, but the losing player seemed to think a different floor manager might have ruled differently. (I didn't want to bias responses by mentioned whether I benefited from the ruling or not)

It was basically handled in the standard way, with two exceptions:

1. Even though the dealer knew the proper resolution, he should have called the floor over, and let the floor tell him what to do. Doing this shows the players that the dealer isn't making up some procedure to try to get out of the jam that has been created.

2. Pulling back the three was correct--but immediately putting cards back into the deck is not the SOP. The three should be set aside while "the card that would have been the river card" is put out. THEN the three is shuffled into the remaining stub.

Again, the procedure was, for all intents and purposes, followed appropriately, with a few hiccups that affected the perception of propriety.

And the other advantage of calling the floor is a good floor will explain for the table exactly what is about to happen (and maybe why it's about to happen), so nobody is surprised when the woulda-been river is burn+turned and the deck is shuffled. It helps the players feel better that things are being done by some standard procedure if they know exactly what's going to happen ahead of time.

When a dealer doesn't call the floor for burn and turn, it is likely that the dealer has had several recently and may be trying to keep from the floor that another has occurred.

Pull the turn card back. Complete the acton. Burn and turn what would have been the river card. Reshuffle the original turn card. Now that card has a chance of coming back out on the river.

Stoopidskunk ir right.

It's gonna happen often. Its the dealers error, but any dealer who raps the table will give you time to stop them. If your not an idiot you will stop the dealer before this happens. However, you will run into idiots who forget they have cards and they will put cards under racks etc. bs
