I work at a pharmaceutical company in La Jolla and they're very much closed today unless someone forgot to send me the "we're open" memo.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which one? As far as I know, Pfizer and Novartis are closed. Pfizer's supposed to be open tomorrow as of what I know now.

I work at a diagnostics co. off of Mira Mesa blvd. If I jumped ship and went pharma, could we negotiate "poker days" in lieu of sick days?
ha.
I don't think my company is back open this week either. I called twice today and got the "after hours" message. No emails or calls.

The Lakers are the #1 heterosexual basketball team in the universe.

Because the Lakers are the only basketball team with a
high level exec who has posed in Playboy?

I almost took a job there when they were recruiting for their Doc. Control dept. about 6 months ago.

I work for a small biotech company. It's actually in Sorrento Valley. As it turns out, we're kinda working a half-day.

I interviewed at Amylin about a year ago. I wish I would have bought the stock then. Now I think it's too late.

Hmmm, looks like the Horno Ridge fire cut off my escape route to Irvine. I hope I don't have to use it. Oceanside is still a ways away from the Fallbrook fire, so I'm crossing my fingers for now.

Is anybody in SD aside from service industry employees working this week? How about downtown/Chula Vista area, that's plenty far away, right?

I fear that if I was in a situation like this where I wouldn't have to work for a few days I would end up at a bar by a beach getting drunk and playing Golden Tee like 14 hours/day. Not a brag.
