October Goals

October:

1. Get my money out of Party and put somewhere that I can be a US Citizen and still play poker. Thinking about Stars but they are up in the air still too.

2. Do a Hand review session.

3. Play less poker and post more hands and not multitable until I can make money at a single table consistently. Used PSO Instant Bank Roll to get started on Party, and a week later Party is pulling out of the US (oops!) So I played about 1500 hands of poker in 3 days, way too much for me, to clear the raked hands requirement and fortunatley was only down about 25bb.

4. Do more fun poker things, like play in NL Freeroll Tournies, to break up the grind.

5. Learn how to play better in big pots and when more than 4 people see the flop.

6. Find a balance between Poker and Family that is workable. Keep the wife happy, amen brother. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

7. Be breakeven or a little better for the month and continue to improve my game.

2 - clear UB bonus, halfway through
3 - stop making plays that make me think "I really shouldn't be doing this" while I do it, or "I'm definitely beat here and should've folded"

Huh. I'm not entirely sure what my goals will be this month with so much up in the air. A few things are clear, however.

1. Pass my qualifying exam 10/19.
2. Spend the night of 10/19 drunk off my M.S.-endowed ass. Else, spend the night of 10/19 drowning my sorrows.
3. Wake up 10/20 sometime, and get my act together sufficiently to drive to the Fallsview casino. Meet up with some number of 2+2ers. Play better poker and enact my revenge on the 5/5 NL game. Perhaps play some limit depending on what games are running, what 2+2ers show up, and if I don't want to sit 10+ buy ins deep at 5/5 NL after pwning it.
4. Stop playing poker some time in the early morning hours of 10/21. Elect to either drive home or be a balla and get a room there. Wake up in the early afternoon of 10/21. Repeat goal 3.
5. Repeat goal 4 for 10/22.

Beyond this, I'm not sure. Last night, I was playing some 100 NL on Prima, and that may be an appealing option so I don't have to have too much money sitting on a poker site with things so uncertain. I don't want to put any hand count goals with my qualifier looming and the outside chance of bad things. I guess my goal is to wait and see w/o doing anything stupid, and to not lose my roll to stupid legislation.

What level? I bet I've played against you a bunch.

My goal for the month is to still be playing poker online by the end of it.

If I reach that goal, my other goals are:

Learn NL better, move up to 50NL.
Play 10k+ hands limit 6max.

I have completely cashed out and will no longer play on-line.

Still participate in session reviews using my 85,000 hand history.

1. Finish AP reload at 1/2 6-max or 2/4 FR when available.
2. Finish all of UB $850 stacked bonuses. From what I've read, it's gonna suck.
3. Watch Final Table Poker by Phil Gordon. Just got it yesterday.
4. Finish Miller NL book. Read it again if I finish.
5. Place in the money in tomorrow night's monthly tourney and gain points for the year ending tournament of champions. Same goal as last month when I [censored] blew it. Had a healthy stack w/ about 28 to go, open raised to 3BB w/ AKs in the CO, sb reraised me all in. He had me slightly covered. I thought for a bit, know damn well I should just fold, but something told me he was making a move on me. I'd played with him all night. How many times have I read people misplaying AK. A kajillion. I [censored] called so stupidly and the guy had AA. Good bye three hours of work ya' damn douchebag. Don't you hate it when you know the right thing to do, but you didn't have the discipline to do it? Sucks worse than not knowing the right thing.
