Run it twice?
Playing a very loose home game last night, I get all-in against a guy who I'm pretty sure doesn't have aces. I've got kings and he's got queens. We've both got about 250 in our stacks. I've only got about 60 back if he sucks out. This is a very good game and I'm one of the better players. Not wanting to take a hit, I decide to reduce the variance by suggesting we run it twice. Of course he catches a queen on the second flop to split. I know it's equal EV, but just wanted to reduce variance in a game I know I can beat fairly regularly. Did I make the right play?
