Re: Someone Please Pass a Resolution on Sudan!
If the respective roles of oppressor/oppressed in the Sudan were reversed, and the Christians and followers of native religions were oppressing the Moslems and refusing to allow them an effective power sharing role in the country or to secede, the cries of "Jihad" would have been raised long ago and Islamic "freedom fighers for allah" (i.e. terrorists) funded by despotic oil states would have flocked to the fight and this issue would be getting much more interest in the UN and the world at large. But as it is, black Christians and animists who are oppressed by Moslems just aren't the kind of politically correct victims that are sympathetic to liberal interests or those who value the friendship of the oil producers more highly than the victims of atrocities funded by them.
