I agree that G probably should have said something to MDMA, citing his displeasure. students should ALWAYS say something to their coaches on ways to improve their methods.

It appears G_Dollaz didn't know how to deal very well with the new approach/ways of thinking. MDMA probably did a good job of introducing these things. This was probably so far removed on a fundamental level of thinking, that G kinda got lost and out of his comfort zone. (see balance & confidence @ http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...umber=12878826 )

After this experience G decided that coaching itself wasn't good, but he didn't realize that it was only a part of the coaching process and integrating it into your game that didn't go well. He then blaimed MDMA for this as well, not realizing that the responsibility is first and foremost on the student. Ofcourse this is valuable information for a coach as well, thinking about how people might respond to it. Students might deal with it well by themselves but there might be pitfalls. And this is where communication comes into play. MDMA wishes to help his students, so if anything of this sort happens it's best to vocalize it so the coach knows what the important issues are to focus on, and to learn and adapt himself.

FionnMac: Maybe so, but wouldn't you get pretty pissed if the guy hadn't even told you once that he wasn't satisfied with the two sessions you had, only to then read about it the first time in this thread, like some 8 months later or so? Also the "it took me quite some time to get back to playing my A game after being coached." is just pure insulting, at least that's how I feel.

yeh fair enough, obv he should have something to you previously.

I just wanted to chime in and recommend snorer. He doesn’t post very much at all but is a very cool guy who has had pretty strong success playing HU NL SNGs. Due to time restrictions I’ve only gotten to work with him a limited amount but I talk to him almost daily and he is a great poker mind who specializes in one on one no limit. I met him through PM when he was nice enough to answer some questions I had about an old HH of his and I believe his coaching rates are very reasonable for anybody wanting to play mid and high-limit SNGs. Probably PM is best for details.

holla,
bbbushu
