Re: Greatest Songs of all Time
And just to segue, I'll use that as my list's jumping-off point:
Hendrix - "All Along the Watchtower" Bob Dylan - "Visions of Johanna" The Beach Boys - "God Only Knows" The Beatles - "Strawberry Fields Forever" Van Morrison - "Astral Weeks" Big Star - "Thirteen" Derek and the Dominoes - "Layla" Love - "Alone Again Or" That's the first eight off the top of my head, and it's pretty much "rock and roll made by white people (except Arthur Lee) between 1966-1971". If I really put in the effort, I could do a better job expanding on genre and time period; or at least, make a list that doesn't contain "I'll Be Missing You". |

They don't get enough love, no pun intended. Oh yeah, and add U2 to the list of bands that apparently didn't write any of the 500 greatest songs in rock history, according to that list. Seriously, I'm stunned the Steve Miller Band isn't #1. |
