I know TopDog and it is definitely possible he would not cap QQ preflop here. 13-1 on the river....has to be enough.

I call the river like every time. You just see enough QQ's and lower imo.

i guess i'll change my answer to call because really all it comes down to is whether QQ accounts for at leat 7% of the hands he plays like and it surely does.

but when you said it was TopDog1 i was pretty damn sure it was a fold. my note for him is like "misses easy value" or something. really close decision.

I think a call and c/c river is the right play. He didnt cap pre so no QQ, but he would play JJ,TT,99,88 like this. He might have a goofy two pair, but not enough of the time to warrant a fold. Calling a bet on an ace river would be tough.

I folded. It just seems absurd to me that he would ever play a worse hand like this.

It's funny I played like 2 sessions with him since this hand and after watching him play a little more closely, I was like [censored] I shoulda called.

Absolutely should have called. Without going into who this guy is, I can say that he plays poker for fun and does think hard about the game, though his thought process is off sometimes. This is not uncommon for high-limit players who are out for fun. It's important to not overanalyze hands like this, and just to close your eyes and keep calling down. It gets the money.

This is a very interesting hand because people get way too caught up in thinking that everyone else thinks like they do. In fact this is not even close to reality (even among regular posters on this board). Sometimes you can never know what your opponent was thinking, but it is important to remember that they aren't looking at things the same way you are.

I have never even played a hand of limit poker in my life and this seems like such a basic call. Hand reading and ranges and pot odds FTW
