1/3 PL live 2 hands. am I playing too passive?
First hand:
10 handed. huge donkey had been showing down a lot of bad hands after calling pf raises(K3, Q4 type hands). Hadn't paid a lot of attention to betting patterns unfortunately as I was paying attention to the MNF game.I'd been catching some cards and showing down winners.Playing TAG huge donkey: ~400 bb: ~$200 me(MP): $625 button: ~$200 <---- Tight passive. Only stayed in pots with strong hands. Folded to me, I raise 8d9d to $8. 2 callers, button makes it $25. Huge donkey and BB call. I fold. With my stack and image, should I be calling here? Hand 2: huge donkey(CO): ~300 CO -1: ~$200 me(SB): ~$520 BB: ~$200 4 or 5 limpers around to me. I raise AdQd to $15. BB, CO-1 and donkey call. Flop comes Qx Jh 2h. I bet $25, bb calls, folded to donkey who makes it $50. I call, BB calls. Afterwards I figure I should have raised, but at the time I decided to just call. Don't know why, I don't think I was paying enough attention. Turn comes an offsuit 8. I check, BB goes all in for $25, donkey raises to $100. I tank and eventually fold. Do I need to just get it in here, or should I have gotten as much as possible in on the flop? Sorry for the long read. I appreciate any help. |

Re: 1/3 PL live 2 hands. am I playing too passive?
i probably call in hand 1 you want to play pots with the donk and you have a good hand for a multiway pot.
hand 2 depends on what kind of donkey he is, the fold is probably ok, as he can easily have 2pair here. I dont mind getting it in on the flop though against that guy. |

Re: 1/3 PL live 2 hands. am I playing too passive?
I forgot to mention that i was trying to tighten up a bit because i have a tendency to play too loose once I get a stack, so in hand 1 i just tried to stick to that. Still think I should've called.
I agree that in hand 2 i should've potted the flop after his min-raise. I wasn't thinking clearly I was pissed off at the MNF game not going over 40 when it was 31-7 after 3 quarters. |
