Doyle isnt much for bankroll mgmt principles.

[/ QUOTE ]He said he had guaranteed backing if he busted, so not risking a lot in a good highstakes games would just have been very bad financial sense. Especially considering that those games likely were incredibly soft.

Taking shots is a huge part of sound financial management in a game like poker were the stakes are so varied, and if you easily can get backed your effective bankroll is far larger than your liquid assets.

[/ QUOTE ]

true that...however I'm too much of a panzy to ever go broke...that'd just be tough on someone's confidence.

Poker Wisdom of a Champion, I believe if what you're talking about. No poker strategy, but still a great great book. A lot of it was very inspirational, IMO.

If you read Todd Brunsons article about Doyle investing a lot of money in shares and sold when it reached its lowest would give you an indication.. 10-20 mill shouldn't be too off

I don't think this gets mentioned but supposedly before Doyles Room, Doyle was affiliated with a poker site that went under. He then payed out everyone with his own money so his name would still be good.

I wouldn't put a whole lot of trust in guys like Russ Hamilton or Boyd and god knows whoever owns other sites. I would think Doyles Room would be as trustworty as a poker site can be.

Well, I suppose you can be pretty confident that you'll get your money. But I've still heard that their customer service is pretty awful.
