JJJ, No 20/40 ever? If I try to start one does it have any chance of going? Assuming it goes, will it be rake or time and, if time, how much? TIA.

One friday night I was there and there was a 20/40 and a 30/60 going. I almost pissed myself when I heard.

If you don't care about the smoking, the Greektown room is just not as bad as everyone says it is. They now offer a large variety of NL games as well as 3/6

50-100 1/2 $6/half hour
200 flat 1/2 $6/half hour - reload up to 200 at any time
300 flat 2/5 ?? charge
300 min 5/10 $8/half

Can someone please explain why the MCC 50-200 is 1/2/2 and not 1/1/2?

Everything at MGM is scheduled to open a year from now. There is an advertising firm in my office building that is doing all the work for them at thats why they are saying, and I have heard the same from others as well. Poker room hotels, spa, night clubs, etc. As far as rake goes, I am making more of an educated guess on that one, since I figure every other MGM casino charges rake and not time, it would make sense.

Anyone have an answer to my question? If I were to ask the floor to start an interest list for 20/40 or bigger, would they do it? Is it at all likely that some of the 10 game regulars would play? Basically, I'll take the drive up if I have a reasonable shot of getting a 20 game going.

well there is a chance they will get it going.. but there is another factor which contributes to which casino is the busiest... the bad beat jackpot at greektown was at 67k this past sat.. and the PLACE WAS PACKED!!! 3 hour wait for 3/6.. it was insanse!! so obviosuly there not going to get a 20/40 game going then.. but you could give them a call b4 you come up and try and get a list of intrest... lemme know when u do.. ill b sure to come down and play with you.. at least make it 2 on the list..

dave, pluse the 10/20 game can be a riot. it's really passive with alot of limpers then its people straddling everyhand. i have never played 20/40..but even some of the respected dealers say that 10/20 game is just a juicy and profitable. i normally play only 10/20 and its filled with 3-4 people who know how to play and the rest are just chasing donkeys. i have been up 1k in the first hour quite a few times.

I don't doubt it. Sounds basically like every 10/20 game on Earth. The thing is, if I got a 20 game going, I'd get the same players for double the stakes.

It's up to 74k today. They even had a 5/10 running the whole time I was there.

Daver, there is not a reasonable chance of getting a 20/40 going, <10%. It's happened twice that I recall in the past year or so, most recently a few months ago. It started mainly because another regular and myself were pushing for it and the waiting list for 5/10 NL was long. We were playing 5-handed for most of the time after the NL games opened up. It was fortunate we had two random action players I'd never seen cuz there's no way any mcc regulars would play short for more than a couple rounds.

Your best chance for 20/40 is Wednesdays at greektown. Starts at 6am, no seats open up until late afternoon and usually goes until midnight or so. It's 1 round of LHE, 1 round of LOH, $16/hr time. Lots of fun. Definetely call ahead 1 hour before.

Otter, the only non-standard response I've gotten from a mcc floorperson was that something like that probably wouldn't happen until they complete rennovating the room, which isn't supposed to start for another year.

$1-2-$2 probably is supposed to create more action.

HOw many $200 tables did they have going?

Are you sure they had $2-5 game? I don't think they spread that anymore at Greektown
