Re: AQ - pair of queens on the flop - dangerous board
Ugh, that is ugly.
I think your flop raise was preferable to waiting for the turn because you could easily be ahead here and need to get the value now, and maybe you knock out the guy behind you. If you just call and a safe turn card falls, there's no guarantee it'll go bet-call again. On the turn I guess I call because there's a chance I'm ahead, I've got some outs/hidden outs to catch up if not and the pot is big. I want to see other opinions, though. |

not sure I follow. PF UTG doesn't call, but is leading out on the flop?

Re: AQ - pair of queens on the flop - dangerous board
I just call the flop. Your hand is not that great on this board, there's only one player to knock out and a lot of turns can wreck you. I may just call this one the whole way.

I probably 3 bet the flop, both to cut the field and see where I'm at. If capped either call down or fold depending what falls.

I think you played well preflop and at the flop.
I would just call at the turn. |

I probably 3 bet the flop, both to cut the field [/ QUOTE ] won't work [ QUOTE ] and see where I'm at. [/ QUOTE ] given that you're conceivably showing down to a cap UI, won't work |

Re: AQ - pair of queens on the flop - dangerous board
I can't 3 bet the flop because I am the one who raised and no one 3 bet me to give me a chance to reraise. I guess the way I describe the hand is confusing. sb becomes utg postflop and bb becomes mp postflop.

Re: AQ - pair of queens on the flop - dangerous board
UTG's action seems confusing but that shouldnt change much..
(im putting him on a flopped two pair) nobody whos holding J-8 or K-J should slow play, because of the possible flush draw. I'd say those fish are either on a flush draw, or holding a jack chasing that straight. |
