Re: normal variance??
Awww c'mon man. You gotta know the answer to that one.
25bb?!!? You can lose that in an orbit! |

Re: normal variance??
I wish I was you, I would love to only have a 25bb loss after a few orbits

Re: normal variance??
consider my -14bb/100 for yesterdays 2000 hands (with a 200k hands bb/100 hoovering around 3.5 bb/100) not normal on a day per day basis but not a too unique event either.

Re: normal variance??
I lost 150 BB over the course of 3-4 hours while multitabling, which constituted half of my bankroll. I believe that about half of that was almost certainly variance. You just have to stop, cool off, think/talk about or study the mistakes you may have made, get back on your feet again and play.

Re: normal variance??
Let's do a simple experiment to illustrate how short runs mean very little.
We have two players one is a 3BB/100 winner and the other is a -3BB/100 loser. They both have a standard deviation of 17BB/100. They both play 100 hands. Player A will win/lose between -48BB and 54BB 99.5% of the time. Player B will win/lose between -54BB and 48BB 99.5% of the time. |

Re: normal variance??
I still dont really apreciate the variance of this game.
I moved up to 5/10 for a little while, and have posted a -13BB/100 in 1300 hands. Some horrid luck that I wouldnt believed if it were told to me. As you move up in stakes it gets worse too, because your edge gets smaller relative to the players , and the games get more agressive. Im slowly moving over to NL myself, planning to play SH Limit only when a juicy game is avaialable. The key to SH limit is finding a juicy game. The variance is high, but so is your payoff. |
