Default passive play confuses me

in a previous hand villain opend the sb w KJ, then checked a low flop on all three streets. He called when I finally bet the river.

consequently, I have no clue where i'm at postflop here.

You could fold instead. I mean there are 5 players on the flop.

If you are going to raise the flop, you should fire at least one more at the turn. If called there you know you are done.

this is why downswings are self-perpetuating.

CO clearly has a pair, but I decided to make a play at getting headsup and fishing for a pair of my own. I post hands in order to shame myself into better play.

With all the players seeing the flop, I'd call and fold the turn UI.

I need to start doing this. Over the last 3 weeks I've been playing a bit of everything and I'm down 300+BB, 30+ buy ins in sngs and 5+buy ins in NL ring. I know I've misplayed hands and I don't post them because I know what I did wrong but maybe I should do this to embarrass myself enough not to do it again.

I think this is a bad spot for a flop peel given the small pot and our relative position - we'll be tricked into calling a C/R often which destroys our long term odds.
