This bottom set can honestly be folded?
Alright the UTG raiser was TAG(18, 14, 2.8). The blind was 35, 16, 1.9). I really felt like this was a spot where I should fold my set based on the crazy action. The biggest sign was the BB re raise from 55 to 88. That screams set. The only draw was 4 5. What do you guys think? Is it safe to fold here?

Re: This bottom set can honestly be folded?
Haven't answered any threads here before, but I'll try.
My first impression is: If there is ever a situation for folding a bottom set, this surely has to be one of them? Whats your general impression of these guys? Do you know if UTG raises all his pocket pairs? Since a lot of TAGs raise PPs, I think his play screams 9s or 3s. He makes what is supposed to be seen as a standard continuation bet, this doesn't rule out any hand really, but a good player would most likely do it with 9s and 3s, and hope for resistance. Then he sees you calling, and BB raise - so he calls, because he clearly wants both your stacks (if he has 3s or 9s). If he has a higher PP he might have reraised? Then you start raising, and BB raises again, and he sees that both of you have a very good hand - and THEN he goes all-in (after bet and a call). Can't say much about him from just the stats, but I would normally (not that this situation is anything normal) put him on 3s or 9s. If I were him with 9s, I might have just called again though, to ensure you stay in. And I haven't even thought about BB yet, though his preflop range is way bigger, he could have two pairs? Am I way off? |

Re: This bottom set can honestly be folded?
that raise to $55 is bad.. it shows you really like your hand and were slowplaying, or are a total donk. I think the only scenario in which you are winning here is when UTG has AA and BB has a really badly played JJ/QQ. Seems kinda far fetched.
You just call initially then make a weird $55 min raise over top of the reriase, and it gets reriased twice more. I'd fold 22.. with 33 I'd prolly make one of them show me 99. |

Re: This bottom set can honestly be folded?
raise UTG's flop lead. since u just called, I call the min raise and get it in on any turn. as played......well who knows I'd never get here this way.
