Default WSOP 2nd Chance Tournaments

It appears from the WSOP schedule that they are running second chance tournaments for $1000 during side events and $500 later in the ME starting at 7PM every day. I assume these are tournaments that finish up early the next morning and would be similar to a weekly tournamnent or major tournament side event.

Did they have these 2nd chance tournaments last year? It seems kind of cool having a $1K tournament every night.

They were different last year.

5pm - $500 Second Chance
11pm - $250 (?) Second Chance

Weren't they running actual bracelet events during the ME last year, or were those in addition to the ongoing second chance tourneys?

Yes, last year they had some more bracelet events during the main-event. But this year the main-event ist the last bracelet event for 2007. So no bracelet event will start after the kick-off of the main-event.

The second chances are running all-days if I recall it correctly (but no $225 scond chances this year).

I played the $225 last year and the structure is awful. You may be better off playing the $330 from the Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza. Much better structure.

I played in a few of th $500s last year...Final tabled 2 of them in fact. Structure is absolutely horrible- 1500 starting chips and fast blind levels. Gamble early and try to get a big stack then just press the hell out of people on the bubble.

FWIW short structures in live tourneys are still very soft and profitable as live donks are such nits on bubbles and with short stacks.

Yea who cares about structure, if its faster maybe less edge but at least it goes faster. Also many spots in fast structures that are important and occur much more often than at slow structures that bad players may be weak at.

Since I'm a better SnG player than a MTT player, I'm sure the faster structure will be more beneficial to me. I may play in one of these this year.

Yeh, I play shallow money really well, and some of the donks play it really badly, so I don't mind fast structure tournaments.
