Default **Official Potawatomi Poker Room Expansion Suggestions**

1. Bring back the mid limit games. This can be done by:

-starting games whenever you have at least two people willing to play. games, not lists, attract players. this will be a pain in the butt for the management and dealers when games break up quickly, but will pay huge dividends down the road. poker players want games and they want them consistently. they will play online or somewhere else if you don't offer them what they want quickly and consistently. which brings me to my next point.

-Seven new tables is not enough. i've often said the worst mistake potawatomi ever made was building a 10 table poker room in the biggest city in the state of wisconsin. your room could support 30 tables. the reason your games die is because people won't drive if they can't count on their game. For an entire year I played there every weekday and drove 1 hour each way. I'd gladly do it again if i knew the games would go consistently. But you need lots of tables and dealers for this. I guarantee it will pay off.

-The limits you offer should be completely fixed. For example, if you offer 2/4, 5/10, 10/20, 20/40, 40/80 etc. this should be ALL you offer. don't let some donk walk in and say, "hey, how about an 8/16 game" and then you spread it for him. Tell him to play the 10/20. I'm not saying you shouldn't have an 8/16 or any other limit. what i am saying is that you should offer certain limits and never deviate from them. Why? because it's not consistent. when I make my one hour drive, I want to know what to expect.

-don't offer limits that are too close together. Online sites can do this but a B&M room doing this just gets totally clogged up.

2. Promote the living bejeezus out of your bigger poker room. lots of players who used to be regulars completely stopped coming because of your small size. They need to know things have changed.

3. Ask yourself the question: "why does canterbury have a great poker room and we don't?" Then, do everything they do so that you may also have a great poker room (the one exception would be keeping your nl games. personally, i would love to see them go but i don't think you want to upset that many people.)By the way, i'm sure canterbury doesn't start games with just two people, but that's because they don't have to. The action almost never stops up there. When you add the population of milwaukee to the surrounding suburbs, plus the people willing to drive from madison and chicago your player population is very close to that of canterbury's and there's NO REASON why your poker room shouldn't be as good.

That's about it for now.

PS. Fire that ass hole Bob guy if you haven't done so already. He was only concerned with ordering people around and was terrible for business.

Seriously, did you have to make a new thread? There are now 3. You just posted in the both threads. Nice clutter.

I doubt any of what you want will happen. The casino "poker room business" has transitioned into a "let's squeeze them dry" with tournaments mode. In fact, Potawatomi's room is expanding ONLY because of a tournamnent compact they have committed to with some other Tribal types . Given what I've seen, most of the new tables will be "down" most of the time, except for tournaments. They hate to pay staffers. You will still have players sitting and "waiting on some dealers to come on duty", sitting at empty tables.

when party shut down to US players, there were a bunch of poker stars threads. now there's just one **official stars suggestions** thread and it's got about 300 responses. I was trying to do something similar here. Sorry about the clutter.

I may be a little too optimistic but I'm thinking if we get enough people to participate in this one thread we could maybe (and i know i'm going way out on a limb here), just maybe get one of the poker room management types to actually read it.

Have they released any details about the tournaments they plan on having?

I'd think the cash games after the tournaments would be pretty good.

My suggestion - stop charging $1.25 for friggin hot chocolate.

The biggest problem I had with the place was NO ONE knew what they were doing there. Not the players, not the dealers, not the management. That made for the softest 20-40 game I ever saw in my life, but after all the local pros busted out, the money dried up and it wasn't worth the trip anymore.

I'd say get someone who cares about higher limit games. You can fill a small room with micro-limit tables, but a room can't flourish without a bigger main game as a staple.
