Stars 650, question for AK
Was wondering if I made correct play in last Sunday Stars 650.
Blinds 75/150. Stack size - 3500. Hand - AKs on the button. Quite loose player in MP raises 600. What is the best course of action: - fold and keep picking small pots this being Stars WSOP sattellite - reraise him to 1600 - reraise him all-in Any input will be highly appreciated Tam |

Re: Stars 650, question for AK
This looks like a pretty standard push. Reraising to 1600 is terrible because you commit almost half your stack, and folding is even worse.

Welcome to the forum!
A few suggestions: Post the hand using a hand converter (see the FAQ stickied at the top of the forum). You have left out most of the info required to make any assessment that might help - stack sizes, read on villian, your table image, table dynamics (loose, tight, etc). If you spend some time reading the posts here, you will quickly see that *most* will raise with a premium hand in position. How much cannot be offered without a better set-up. If you went all in (possible if your stack is smallish) and got busted by 77, then that's poker. GL! |

Re: Stars 650, question for AK
Standard push, raising to 1600 commits half your stack and at that point you might as well just push for the added FE. AKs is a good hand, but it isn't a made hand. Put pressure on those small pairs.

Re: Stars 650, question for AK
Since its a sattelite you should probably post how many ppl are left, average chip stac, how many get paid because if this is a bubble situation your action may be different but since you only have 3500 I'm assuming you still have a ways to go and should follow the advice of everyone else and push.

[/ QUOTE ] With it being a 150 level, im sure hes still got 3-4 hours to go before he hits bubble, also with the 150 level avg prob around 4000-4500, unless its deep stacked. This is all in push, with him loose as you said he could be raising with anything, and it may keep him off your blinds in the near future if you survive. |

Re: Stars 650, question for AK
Btw funny thing happened in other WSOP sat on Tribeca network. Same hand same situation. EP raises 5BB, I have AK and push all-in. Villain calls and shows KTs. And again T comes on the flop. But this time ace shows on the turn. How many people do that i wonder?
