And if we held AK? [/ QUOTE ] But we dont have AK? Obviously unless you have some super read on villian FOLD...I would have folded PF in the first place,as this is what happens re-raising A9o, and villain calls on these types of flops. And on second thought why are you calling the turn on this board anyway? What are you beating besides AIR? INSTA-MUCK |

Re: 10-20 facing a river push
Why are you checking this flop? You should be in b/f mode on this flop. With PF action, expecting to get to showdown with this board for less then the ~110BB he has seems far fetched. Not to mention, the lack of any good cards for you to peel off. And since are hand is so vulnerable in respect to showdown attainability you open yourself up to getting bluffed so easily since we can't handle any heat whatsoever.

Re: 10-20 facing a river push
I think bet/folding flop is pretty bad since a lot of people combat IP 3bets by check-raising flops light.

Re: 10-20 facing a river push
I think bet folding the flop is bad. No better hands are folding. If he checkraises we have no idea what to do and
its hard to get value from worse hands. I play it the same way hero does or i might fold the turn vs some villains(read dependent). I dont think he is bluffing much on the river but if he is i take the same line with a few hands ,mostly AK, and call river. |

Re: 10-20 facing a river push
The fact that our hand is so vulnerable, can't take any heat, and is very succeptable to being bluffed, accounts for my disregard of 'folding out worse'. I have no problem with that. The ol' taking a -EV proposition now in order to avoid a worse one later.
I just don't think we get to showdown with this hand often enough to warrant an attempt at it. And given the fact that the longer the hand plays, the more likely we are to lose (because of the points mentioned above) I prefer to play one street poker here. edit to add - On this board, I don't fear a bluff c/r because it could be a common line as justification to checking behind. |
