Default PS deposit problem...do I have a play here?

I deposited $800 via moneygram onto Pokerstars...i got it up to about $4250 within about 12 hours with a tourney win...I proceeded to up the limits and ended up draining my account..somewhere along the line I guess PS deposited another $800 to my account while I was in the process of tilting the cash away because I just got an email today saying...
(keep in mind, my account is now at 0...)
We have been contacted by MoneyGram and they informed us that the
transfer
you made on July 28th was processed twice by mistake. Two transactions
were credited to your PokerStars account for the amount of $800 each
but
you have actually sent only one transfer.

I can see that you do not have enough money to repay this.

Please proceed to make another deposit as soon as possible using the
same
information we gave you for a MoneyGram deposit; then, email us when
the
new deposit is successful and we will proceed to send the funds back to

our local processor.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation in this
matter.

Regards,

Carlos

seems a little suspect, had I known they deposited twice to my account, I would have accounted for that $800, but I guess I don't really have a play besides paying it, do I?

It's not your fault MG credited the money twice. You claim to not have noticed since you were already up a couple thousand, if you think the games are good at Pokerstars then pay.

Man that really sucks. I'd guess you're stuck paying or finding another place to play at unfortunately.

I just responded telling them what i thought...i really don't want to be forced to play at full tilt because I love everything about pokerstars, from the software to the usually 100% perfect support...this is the first sliver of a problem I have faced with them...

here's what i sent:

Greetings,
Unfortunately I feel as though I should not have to pay this, as I did not make the mistake. I was never notified that $800 extra had been added to my account, and thus played accordingly. Thank you.

...like I said, I really don't just want to ditch PS, then again I don't really want to pay $800...basically I want PS to just cover the fee and let me keep playing there...haha, wishful thinking I suppose...

LOL DEGENAMENTS
HYACHIACHIACHIACHIA

srsly tho, it seems like you were genuinely unaware of what happened since you were in the middle of a serious spew session. I can understand why you wouldn't want to pay, but if you don't you'll have to go elsewhere.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

As you must see in your email history, we have sent you an email that
day
informing you of that extra deposit. You should have known how much you

deposited in your account and how many times, specially when it is not
a
small amount.

We did not know this was a duplicate transaction until now that
MoneyGram
notified our processor.

As you do not wish to pay the owed funds that are not yours and were
credited to your account by mistake, I have closed your account
permanently and you are not allowed to play on our site anymore unless
this situation is resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

Carlos

thats [censored], its their mistake. THEY PAY. I'd say [censored] em. $800 is pennies to them anyway (these guys make millions a day from rake), they must write this off, If your roll is in the 4k range and your spewing thousands quickly theres no way you could tell the extra $800 was there.
This is like a casino slipping a degen gambler an extra $800 bux then watching him blow it and expecting him to pay off his debt when hes got nothing. These guys dont deserve your rake.

Exactly. thank you, canadiensfan...I shot them another email...

Are you really going to end my pokerstars play over $800? Over the last year or so I've given thousands in tournament fees/rake...just last sunday I paid over $85 in tournament fees. You are going to close my account over a mistake made by moneygram? Or you guys, I'm not even quite sure, all I know is that I made the deposit, and played poker on your software...during that deposit I had won a large sum of money in a tournament and was playing several high stakes sit n go's, thus did not notice the added $800. Please carefully reconsider the financial loss you will encure closing my account. Thanks for your time.

...I can already respond for them
next email will read:
I'm sorry for the mistake but the fact is you received an extra sum of money, and need to repay that before having your account re-opened...
of course the actual response will be much more technical.

Dude, that sucks. I can see both sides of the argument though (not that I agree with what they have done, because I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT).
PS sees it as they credited you $800 by mistake you spent it and therefore owe them it.

Could I just take the time to point something out re the email from Carlos.
He says in the email:

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Well as far as I can see, the first email from them was the one telling you that they had made a mistake and the money had already been lost.

How long before this email and the deposit going into your account?

ALSO,

Please take note all you Tilt-tards who constantly go on and on about how everyone always defends Stars. IF and WHEN Stars [censored] up, people are just as critical as with any other site, it just happens that Stars don't screw up as much as some others.

In conclusion, [censored] em!! take your business elsewhere.

And PS support (we know you are watching), very disappointed [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
