Why bother though. If there is a fish at the table you don't disappoint him because of tiny edges like that. A huge leak imo.

I don't think it is unethical to ask someone to reload when they get really short for the same reason you cannot demand a specific player to play with you. We have a right to decide when we participate in a poker game, and what kind of game we play in. If our game of choice is not available, we may be forced to play something we do not really want to (often NL), but nonetheless it is one's choice whether or not to participate in any game. If I want to set a condition on a game like stacks of a certain size, I may get less action, but it is my right to sit out if my game conditions are not met.

I also agree with nietzche that it is a leak to demand a fish to reload if you think it might make him quit you.

OP next time just sit with 5bbs at all the tables. Mr. Powerade's only option will be to type "touche" and
headasplode.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont recommend it if you like to play on AP or UB as you might find yourself temporarily banned.

[/ QUOTE ]
how come you cannot:
1) sit at 100 tables with 5bb willing to play ANYONE
2) reload to 100bb after the first hand if the opponent is someone you want to play full
?
(not that I play that high)

as of UB/AP: I understand their approach. They want games going. They don't want gazillion of pros waiting for a fish

as of the short-stack: short stacking lowers the edge. If you coin-flip 100 times with/against the shortstack or against the fullstack the outcome is always zero. And it really doesn't matter what enyone does with ther stack in between (you can lower or increase it and the outcome is still the same). Anyone saying anything else just don't understand the math.

The only problem is your edge against a short-stacker is lower what means the time doesn't worth it.

as of this thread: awesome

fwiw I am a huge ethics nit in poker and while I agree that it's a little douchey to just sit out and say "reload" I do not think it's unethical at all. Either player can quit any time they want, any player can ask for the other player to accept certain conditions or the match is over.

[/ QUOTE ]

Right, but by the same logic shouldn't Mr. Crazy Mike not site at every one of OP's tables and say "i want 50/100".

Just ask the POS dean how well it went when he tried this stratagy. I dont recommend it if you like to play on AP or UB as you might find yourself temporarily banned. I like that AP aggrees with my position and I stick firmly to "why should I share the fish with you" mentality.

Just to clear something up I've never sat at anyone's table with less than 5BBs, in fact I'm not even sure if AP allows it. And I've never, ever been banned or even threatened with being banned from any site, ever.
