Man, I rode my bike freaking all over the place when I was 12-15.
Pretty incredible on some of the busy 2-lane back-road 'highways' with no shoulder that nobody got killed. Some close calls though.

I didn't know you could see snow-capped mountains from L.A.

first kiss jitters and stuff like that in H.S. were pretty cool.
Had some good friends when I was 16 or so.
somebody would score some wine-coolers and we were off to whatever drinking location we could come up with.

high-school crushes that were all-important at the time.
Usually accompanied by the feeling/smell of autumn.

sleep-over parties when I was 12 or 13 or so and we would drink coke all night and finally crash-out at 7 a.m. were good times too.

actually having hair on top of my head (back in the day I had a LOT of it)

From my childhood...
-My imagination. Everything is possible for a bored child, and the future is endless.
-Saturday morning cartoons. G.I. Joe, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Silver Hawks, Voltron, etc.
-Toys for all of the above.
-Christmas surprises. When I was 6 my stepfather's stepfather dressed like Santa Clause and brought presents to my house, I believed it whole-heartedly, it was awesome. The same guy ended up molesting my baby sister later and if I ever see him again I would in all likelyhood murder him, but it's still a nice memory, if a little tainted.

From highschool...
-Cutting classes and skipping homework. For the truly lazy man, not doing what you're supposed to is a joy in and of itself.
-Feeling like I'm not responsible for anything.
-Being in great shape and being good at basketball and football.
-Having goofy crushes.
-Having fun being lazy and silly with friends in the senior lounge.

From college, specifically freshman year...
-Finally getting away from home and highschool, being on my own and getting a fresh start.
-Living in the dorms, friends all around, girls just a floor above or below, wandering around meeting new people and making new friends and potential hookups. Hosting 30 person preparties in my dorm room and trying not to get busted by the RAs (I got busted 5 times and eventually got booted from the dorm).
-The haze of alcohol. Everyone's friends when they're drunk, everything's fun, nothing matters.
-Swarms of girls and guys meeting at huge parties with the sole purposes of getting drunk and hooking up, like schools of fish in mating season. Everything, everything being geared toward meeting and getting with more girls, funner girls, hotter girls.
-Making new friends pretty much every day, playing Madden and Halo for hours straight, getting wasted and watching Army of Darkness and Zoolander and Point Break, having wine parties, 40 oz parties, lingerie parties. Just fun all the time.

From New York...
-A city that accomodates my sleep cycle. No matter what you want, it's probably still available at 5 am.
-Manageable weather.
-Chinese restaurants that sell french fries.
-The feeling. Maybe it's just me, but the city gives me a really unique feeling when I walk alone at night (besides the need to keep my hand on my wallet). Something bright and pretty, yet hollow, and lonely. Hard to describe, but I love it and hate it.
