I remember hearing somewhere that using bleach makes sweat stains worse, so I googled it and so far only found one site to confirm this, the rest say to use bleach.

here's what mrscleannw.com says:
"Although it’s counterintuitive, chlorine bleach is one of the worst things you can use to treat perspiration stains, even on white cotton fabric. The chlorine in household bleach will react with the proteins in the perspiration and cause the remaining stain to darken even further. You thought the pale yellow stains gave you pause – just wait until your collar and underarms are almost mustard in color!"

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm fairly certain that it's a chemical in deodorant that actually makes the yellow stains, not the persperation itself. Zinc something.

I dont think thats the case, because I have plenty of white shirts I use as workout shirts that are also yellow around the collar and I dont apply deodorant to my neck (tho maybe I should start!)

Maybe you eat too much citris. SweatSolutions.org (actually Mike Thomas of P&G) says it's the acidity in the antiperspirant.

<shrug>
It's probably one of those things where there's no "right" and "wrong," like global warming.

surpisingly, gap makes some nice fitted ones with pima cotton

[/ QUOTE ]

I have several gap ones and while I enjoy their softness and initial shape, I must say the neck's of mine get all bent out of shape just like other brands after a while. It could just be my lack of care for them though.

I have two main types of white undershirts: longer ones that get tucked in along with a tucked-in shirt, and shorter ones (regular t-shirt size) that I wear under non-tucked in shirts/sweaters/etc. For the longer ones I like Fruit of the Loom tagless, and for the untucked ones I've been on a Nautica kick lately. Nautica's white undershirt t-shirts have a ridged neck ring thing that seems to maintain shape and size up pretty well under repeat washings.

Also, Banana Republic and Gap (I think) have ribbed (perhaps for her pleasure) t-shirts that fit a little clingier and look nice. I keep them for specialish occasions and they look pretty sharp (and stay in place well.) They also come in gray and black.

Go to TJMaxx, Marshalls, or Ross Dress for Less for these products.

They have quality [censored] for around the same price as non quality.

Last time I went got some money V necks. The brand was Allen Scully or something like that. I never heard of the designer before but you can tell it isnt Hanes or fruit of the Loom. The shirts are thicker, whiter, and hold up better.

You can get quality Adidas oe Reebox socks for cheap their also

ditto with underwear
