Well, even against an opponent whose range is ATC, it makes intuitive sense that there will be some hands that are huge underdogs to a random hand. The part that surprises me is, given the overlay, that one case where it turns out that Sklansky and Miller draw the line just shy of ATC to call. So as you say, there are only a few "exceptions" to fold! That's a little surprising, but I suppose it's just where the line ended up. Odd that 94 is profitable to call but 32 isn't.

There are 16 possibilites of AK and 24 possibilites of JJ-AA. (Each PP has 6 diff. possibilites of suits).

Because of the dead money in the pot, you actually make more money, taking the worst of it slightly more than 50% of time.

Getting it in with the 'worst' hand, isn't always a mistake in the long run!

I presume you're talking about Sklansky and Miller's book. If Sklansky had authored a solo book on NLHE, we'd be debating what it meant because it would be incomprehensible.

That's rather unfair and pointless point adding nothing to the thread. Although many seem to find ToP difficult and incomprehensible, I find it lucid, exact and very comprehensible. It mystifies me why so many ppl struggle, but perhaps I'm more used to technical writing than most.

Nothing against, Ed, but having done a lot of analysis myself, I wish more ppl were moaning about NLHET&P!

TT includes two cards AK needs to make a straight. It is also less likely you are getting counterfeited, eg. board QQTT7.

TT is so close that folding is only a very small mistake here.
