BTW I was there playing that 5/10 game a good bit from Dec 15-22. 22, Sometimes Ragged Unc hat, beard, black northface.

I was there Dec. 16-18th, and flew out Sunday evening. Don't recall you right off the bat, though. I'm sure we played together at some point.

Are you willing to play for 3k/5k on the flop vs these guys?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd much rather not, but that kind of action with deep stacks was very uncommon.

Raise a little more pre.

Disclaimer: I don't play live.

Given the pre,, I think the $900 c/r on the flop is a decent amount if you're done with the hand after that. You've made it abundantly clear what you have, and if they continue they have you beat.

This is a very easy fold, particularly given the action of LAG villain. (call bet #1, then raise bet #2).

I would imagine that they both have you beat, or at the very least you are up against one better made hand and one strong draw.

You really think the pro's going to donk it up with JJ here?

Hi Kirk,

Flop: 2 4 8 (Pot: 370)

You are crushed, my friend, barring a read that he's on a stone-cold bluff, which he basically never is, since the solid player obviously has the nut flush draw and 1200 more is not enough to shake him. Although, sometimes people screw up like that in the heat of the moment, and fail to price out a draw with a bluff or top set. But everything would have to line up perfectly for you to somehow be ahead here, so muck it and be happy you got off cheap.

I think that the fact that you posted this hand means you somehow were not behind, but you will be the overwhelming majority of the time here.

Okay, I folded. Villain#1 thought for a long time, then folded too (which is why I was never too worried about him to begin with).

What made this hand tough for me was the action of Villain#2. I just couldn't understand what he's playing that way. How often do you see a smooth-call followed by a re-raise on that kind of a board? Calling was not an option - his turn bet was going to be all-in regardless of his cards, and given that I hate to see the board pair, any [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], or A/K, peeling one was unlikely to help.

He told me later that he had 88, and knew that I was going to check-raise, that's why he just called. Two hours later he changed his story to 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], so I'll never know for sure.
