F U Pokerroom. I remember the early days playing in the 5 handed 10-20 and 25-50 games. Hope they kill the rest of their action.

I will join the boycott. Just cashed out after clearing only half points for the bonus. I hate the software too. I play 2-4 and 3-6 and this rake increase is ridiculous. There is a new rake free site out there, not many players yet, and the software could use some improvement. Poor software and no rake is better than rake and good software. I reccomend others look into this. Also if no rake sites like this get going hopefully it will discourage the big sites from increasing rake, and hopefully encourage lowering the rake.

Good grief, guys. Can we quit with the PokerRoom threads?! I just logged on, and the top 5 threads in IG are PokerRoom threads. Sheesh... Paying this much attention to a lame azz site is a waste of time.

As for 2+2 boycotting PokerRoom, as I joked above, PokerRoom probably couldn't be happier. They don't want people pulling money off their tables. That's exactly what winning poker players do. They want the money to just keep circulating, until it all falls down through the hole in the middle of the table. If anything, other places might take note of what PokerRoom is doing right, inasmuch as they are chasing away sharks. Your boycott is juvenile. Oops, where am I again? Nevermind.

You are entirely wrong in this assertion. Pokerroom gains from players getting and keeping games going, and us regulars/winners are the ones who tend to get games going for them. Surely their "extensive" analysis will have told them this.

Your comment is juvenile. If we allow a site to increase the rake in such a drastic manner without an exodus of players then the other sites are likely to follow suit. Do you understand yet?

I can't believe you guys are giving the Pokerroom.com guy such a hard time. He made a very reasonable post concerning the rake changes, along with plans to make corrections where needed.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, he came right out and said they raised the rake while at the same time designing it to screw you on player points. I mean he said it. How could you possibly be mad with him admitting the site was greedy and screwing bonus users? Honestly, you guys slay me.

Oh, edited to add, I cashed out last night after my initial deposit three days ago. Bonus became unsustainable for a $1/2 player.

[/ QUOTE ]

In all fairness please read through what I actually wrote before replying to this thread.

We can handle the critisism and will deal with it. But for that to work you got to keep it constructive.

The comparisons that some of you have been undertaking are good. Trying to state that we admitted to having raised the rake for everybody and purpously screwed the bonus system is just a silly lie.

It's brand new way of approaching rake. As such, it might need some refining.

As a theoretical example I'd like to address those who just flat out state that "You can NEVER rake a pot up to 10%"

Well, for the sake of argumentation, why not? What if all the other pots, because of it, where raked far less?

Before bagging a system altogether on pure reflex maybe it deserves a second thought. As a system.

FWIW & contrary to your post.

The Poker Room News link
http://www.pokerroom.com/pokah/news/news.php
seems to havea curious omission: mention of the new rake structure.

[/ QUOTE ]

Look again. There was a lot of news released that day.
It's there.
