Villain is 40/16/2.53 0ver 37 hands. Whats my line on the flop here? Do i let it go on the turn? As played, is checking the river a mistake?

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
I don't get it...you bet a scary turn to chk/fold a blank river.. I think chk/fold the turn may be correct but it depends on his peeling standards. Also with his AF you'd think he would put in more action on the flop or turn with a pair so I'm not sure if you should chk/call that river.

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
This flop is terrible since it hits so many hands that loose players like to limp with, like 44, QTo, JTo, J9o, etc. Still, you gotta bet. The turn makes every hand crush you and it isn't profitable to draw to your gutshot which may not be good anyway. Check/fold the turn.

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
I would check w/ 99 in the BB, although if I knew it would make SB fold I would raise it, but that will rarely happen.
either bet/fold the blank river or check/call. |

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
Raising PF should be standard really.
On the turn I let it go. |

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
This hand is just really hard to play OOP. b/f flop, b/f turn, c/c river seems best to me. He may be calling you down with a ten, but there are just barely enough goofball hands that may have made it this far to try and induce a river bluff vs. a likely LAG.

Re: 99 HU facing overcards
I usually give up on turn when I get called on that flop.

Check-fold the turn. If he wasn't ahead of you on the flop, he almost certainly is now.
