Default PS 22: QQ 4-handed

The monster stack UTG had been moving very frequently and pushed the last five or six hands prior to this hand. I'm not sure if he's pushing EXACTLY any two, but definitely at least 50%. It's hard to tell the difference. I thought it was pretty close at the time and based on a few adjustments in his range, it's really pretty close. What would you all do in this circumstance?

******* Hand 1 ********

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t75/t150
4 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: t9220
Button: t995
Hero: t1985
BB: t1300

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG raises all-in t9220, Button folds, Hero . . ?

Later, when it got HU, I moved in with 44 on the button with a 3k stack at 200/400/25 and it held against his K9s. The very next hand, I get 44 again and he shoves . . .

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t200/t400
(Ante: t25)
2 players

Stack sizes:
SB: t7670
Hero: t5830

Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is BB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB raises all-in t7645, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: t7245 returned to SB.

Results:
Final pot: t850

I thought this was close but I could be wrong . . . there is the chance that he’s on tilt after wiffing with his K8s the last hand, and if he’s shoving > 40%, I have to call with 44 here. What are you guys normally doing? Insta-call?

Tough hands. I'd call #1 with that read, and probably fold #2.

I'd fold the 1st hand, no need to risk going out on the bubble with a nice stack. Shorty has 2x the BB and will be done soon.

I would definitely call hand 1. You need him to push around at least 55%, but I think you can be pretty confident that he is considering your read and the fact that you can be calling significantly looser than this and it's still right for him to be pushing that range. In these spots, it seems like it's not a matter of figuring out his range exactly, although that would be optimal. It's just like, does he know what to do here or not. Once he pushes five or six hands in a row, I think that's more than enough to demonstrate that he understands the situation, either mathematically or intuitively. Your hand would have to be worse to make this close.

Yea I instacall hand 2. It would be absurd for him to not to push enough hands to profit here, especially since he demonstrated he understands this stuff with his bubble play.

why is hand 2 an instacall? You are probably 53% to win, but could be 4-1 underdog (unlikely) .... and risking whole stack at this point with 15 bigblinds and 44 is prudent on a call? I mean i would push 44 but not likely call it

You need him to push at least 22+, A2+, KJ+, QJs+ to make the call. I suspect that he is pushing at least this much. It could potentially be thin, but I don't see any reason to turn it down unless we know he does really exploitable things. If he pushes or calls at a horribly incorrect frequency or always completes and plays transparently, then I guess I could see passing on it.
