since you didn't raise preflop 3 handed with an ace, this has a higher than normal probability of being a bluff. A laydown is pretty awful, IMO.

Can you imagine the look on the bluffers face when you fold the nuts face up. Might be worth it.

Bluffing 350k into a 60k pot with a 4 card straight on the board? That would be truly even more awful then folding the nuts.

"Don't fold the nuts" should be part of anyone's basic strategy.

Risk 450k to win 18k?

I'd say villain dependant I like to push Acerag of clubs here since other ace calls 993/1000.

Might fold this unless villain is capable of pushing the sucker end or a 2 pair.

It's risking very much to win very little, unless villain is a complete ##tard.

obviously if i think theres a chance he doesnt have the straight i call here, but really, it'd be a suicidal bluff wouldnt it?

so basically im putting my whole stack on the line to win a split of the pot. i dont see why i should do that, but i guess i must be wrong.

there's a small chance villain has Acxc and freerolling for flush - which he will catch 1 out of 5 times. There's a god chance he has a split with you but hoping he can bluff you out / catch you with a 9. There's a 10% chance he has 2 pair or a 9 - or thinks you do not have the A and is bluffing. You call for that 10%.

If this were PLO or you had 1M behind this would be standard, but you aren't deep enough for that.

is calling for a split really that important though, im risking 360k to get 40k, and surely him I'm never sccoping? maybe im crazy but if he doesnt have the A here its a suicidal bluff surely? i really dont think the 10% bluffing rule applies here
