2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
Hi all long time lurker. Just now got the nerves to post So Basically i have been beating 25c/50c and 50./1 limit at AP for awhile now and was thinking bout playing at foxwoods off and on when i have the time.
My question is this after looking at the rake structure and between tips is the game even beatable for a decent bb/100? and if so what is a logical BB estimate And if it isn't beatable what level starts to become? |

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
Of course it's beatable, since most of the players are clueless. But you shouldn't plan to make a living playing that game, nor should you even be thinking in terms of "How many BB/100 will I win?"
Just play well, have fun, and get acclimated to live poker. |

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
Don't waste your time at 2-4 unless you have a short live roll. You'll eventually be bored stiff. If you can afford to lose 500 or even 400, play 10-20. You should more than hold your own if you beat .50-1.00 online. If you're concerned about variance slapping you in the face, and you want to play for a long time, play 4-8 with 3-400 behind you.

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
Play 2/4 to get the feel of live play but don't expect much return for your investment. It's a good place to get comfortable though. Once you're comfortable with live play at Foxwoods, move on to 4/8 which is juicier. Bring 2-3 buy-ins ($400 to $600 for 4/8). Take shots at higher limits as you get more comfortable.
This advice probably sounds lame, but it's important to get your sea legs before you sit at the tougher tables otherwise you'll be so wrapped up in the dynamics of live play that you'll not be able to bring your A game. See ya at the donkfest. Cheers. |

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
Play the 4/8. Full rake at FW is $4 per hand. At 2/4 that's 1BB/hand. People routinely buy-in for $50 at 2/4. Two of these buy-ins leave the table every hour due to rake.
I've never played 2/4, but you can see it will be difficult to beat due to rake. Also, yr win rate, if it exists, will fluctuate wildly due to the rake before it converges. I played 4/8 for some time. In my experience, and limited sample size, I was winning around 7-8$/hr. I never had a downswing worse than 50BB = $400 (spread over multiple sessions). Based on this, I think $600 would be a suitable, although perhaps risky bankroll for this level (3-buy ins if $200). If yr rate is lower or close to break-even I would advise a $1000-1200 roll for the level. |

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
thank you for all responses. I am not trying to make a living at 2/4 would be suicidal. So if you avg 7-8hr at 4/8 its most likely only beatable for 1-2bb/100 or so. So it makes me think that 2/4 is most likely beatable 0-1bb/100 long term. I may be wrong but does sound a little brutal.

Re: 2/4 FR limit at Foxwoods
2/4 is for absolute novices, or wives and gfs that can't play.
If you want a winrate, play 4/8. If you aren't rolled for 4/8, you shouldn't be going to a casino. |
