Default Ace on The River(LC)

Just started reading this and I cannot put it down. Great pics and I love how it was honestly written. Is this a fav here?

I like it.

Most people rated it somewhere between ok and good.

Mason give it a 10.

It is really nicely done. Nice to see so many pics. I have so many "just strategy" books that this is refreshing

I think it's excellent. It's not a strategy book, and some have an issue about that.

It should have taught you how to act like a gentleman, and how to think like a world class player. But not everyone is smart enough to get it, nor can they be taught--they already know everything.

Excellent "coffee table book" although it won't teach you
much about strategy that you already know if you're already
a decent player. Is this also in hardback?

If this book didn't teach you anything about poker, I feel sorry for you. It's not a cookbook: it won't tell you what to do with AJs UTG. But there is a ton of valuable information in there, especially about the nature of gambling and about gambling for a living. Most of the material in the book is stuff that I've never seen in any other poker book. His writing style is concise and the book is put together well.

This is pretty accurate IMO.
There are only so many books to read about how to play 88 from UTG with X amount of BBs. This book teaches poker and gambling from Barry Greenstein's perspective, and I thought it was well worth the read.

Regards,
Carl

I'd say there was a pretty equal divide on the forum regarding this book.

I'm on the "pretty book, but not a lot of value to me personally" side. Basically, if you've read as many books as I (and others) have, there wasn't a lot that was new in this book IMO.

I did enjoy the personality traits of poker players section though. And the pics. are great. If I ever get a decent coffee table, I'd love to display it.
