I don't believe(I may be wrong) that this can be done within windows, it's probably done directly by your laptop(if at all), if you post your laptop type, somebody may be able to find a guide to doing just this through bios possibly.
Here's a link that shows somebody with a different problem, but answers you question:

Not sure if this will work, buts sounds like it should.
Pick up a 3.5MM stereo splitter, and a 3.5MM cable. Put the splitter in the headphone jack. Now you have two outputs. In one of them you plug in your monitor speakers. Then put the cable in the other end and loop it back into your computers microphone jack. Turn down the microphone input level gain to a minimum and make sure they are not muted. If you have a lineout then you can just use that instead of getting a splitter.

gigi's solution doesn't make sense to me.

it sounds like the original output from the headphone jack will be split. half of it will get looped around eternally, and the other half will go to the external speakers.

i don't think that this is a very good idea.

short of fiddling around with the hardware, i don't think there's anything you can do. this is a fairly common feature of devices that have both speakers and a headphone jack.

you'll need to open up your headphone jack and do some serious tinkering to get what you want.

in short, i don't think what you want is accessible.

I thought about it some more and realized this won't work. Once you plug something into the headphone jack the internal speakers are muted (hardware based most likely).
