Default NL25 98s

Button is a solid player 24/12/3 after ~~100 hands, hasn't done anything out of order yet. So what is my line in the river? Am I still firing? His river af is way bigger than flop/turn, so if I check he is pretty much always betting here.

BB ($53.90)
UTG ($22.05)
UTG+1 ($23.95)
Hero ($21.05)
Button ($25)
SB ($59.80)

ANTES/BLINDS
SB posts blind ($0.15), BB posts blind ($0.25).

PRE-FLOP : Hero has 9h 8h
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero bets $1, Button calls $1, SB folds, BB folds.

FLOP: : 6d 8s 2c
Hero bets $2, Button calls $2.

TURN [board cards: 6d 8s 2c 2d
Hero bets $4, Button calls $4.

RIVER [board cards: 6d 8s 2c 2d 2s
Hero ???

Tough spot...he could have something like A6 and didnt think you hit the flop, or he could have you crushed with A8 or even an overpair. It's hard to put him on anything but a decent sized bet like 5$ and you could see where you're at.

The only hands you might have to worry about are 66 or a higher pair, and i think he woulda rr pf with 1 of those.

If he had you beat, he probably would have raised either the flop or the turn. Unless you think he has the case 2, I probably go for a check-raise on the river. I can't see someone with those numbers playing 99-AA that way. Most likely he was on a straight draw or combo draw like 57dd or 79dd, or had something like A6 or A8. I think at worst you're chopping this and if his river AF is that high, you can probably get paid on a CRAI.

i think i check and call anything under pot sized. try to use that river agg. against him. betting out and getting raised would suck here. we have solid showdown value.
