Nielso,

Why can't midge be free?

Iron asked him not to start another thread yet he spite-started another one. This means he *wants* to get banned.

Proving my point again.

"I know you are but what am I" would have been less cliched and more creative.

On one hand, I've heard this all before: every time a new person comes in and criticizes libertarians frequently, they are labeled a troll.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because there are a lot of trolls who come in and do this.

[ QUOTE ]
you're going to have to get used to the idea that there are reasonable arguments in the other direction

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, there are. The people who get called trolls aren't using them. Partly because the reasonable arguments start with admitted that taxation is obviously theft and that they simply believe that the ends justifies the means.

[ QUOTE ]
frankly, I like how Midge has counterbalanced the Paul fans recently.

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally, I don't really think Midge is a troll, just insane. Similar to Nielso. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] This is in contrast to a certain conservative member of politics who trolls constantly, but then as the token conservative, his presence is useful despite that.

Many of you have cried wolf one too many times and frankly, you're going to have to get used to the idea that there are reasonable arguments in the other direction and frankly, I like how Midge has counterbalanced the Paul fans recently.

On the other hand, I respect the opinion of people like Vulture and I now agree that Midge is a problem. However, since I haven't even warned Midge about this kind of thing, I can't ban him. I'll go through some of his posts and work with him on being less annoying.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have yet to see a case of someone being accused a troll who wasn't. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of people critical of libertarian positions that were never accused of being trolls (because they are there to make discussion, not derail it through trolling). For example, take Copernicus. He may be an idiot and wrong, but he isn't a troll. MidGe and BluffThis! are classic trolls, just trying to derail discussion and just piss off as many people as possible for just that purpose.

[/ QUOTE ]

Copernicus derails discussions far more than anyone, or at least tries to but his attempts are often ignored. I dunno what forum you're reading. He also randomly insults people that he has on ignore!

Also, if I were a Politics mod, MidGe would be banned. He's a classic troll. In fact, he's pretty much the definition of a troll currently:

"An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum or group with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response."

And I would fix broken quote tags.

Borodog for mod.

2+2 Politics for AC paradise.
